tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th in 1976. He was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star basketball and football player. Gonzalez continued to be a star in both sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was instrumental in leading the football team into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he beat the record of the school bowl by catching nine times. Gonzalez later led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament just a few months later. Gonzalez went on to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as their 13th overall pick. Gonzalez played for the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL year, he was able to catch not less than 59 of them per season.
