Carpenter said the actress was his primary choice for the part, however, she declined. Anne does not recall John Carpenter contacting her or suggesting the role. Her agent could have rejected the role in her name and not even known. Glen Larson sent her an early draft of a script for an actor in the 1978 television program Battlestar Galactica. She initially refused the part because the character was not that powerful. Glen wrote an entirely different character to play Sheba that was stronger. The Living Legend's initial 25-page script was read by Sheba and she was immediately in agreement. It ran for a single season. She co-starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the film Joyride (1977) as well as co-starred with Michael Moriarty in the horror movie The Dark Tower (1987).
